Yachties Day Out: Best Top Things to do on your Day Off in Fort Lauderdale

After working hard on busy private or charter yachts and being confined to a small space, us Yachties really look forward to a bit of indulgence and pampering on our day off. The best part about travelling for work is being able to take in the amazing cuisine, culture, city sights and fun crew bars in whichever port we land for the season. Below are some of our top recommended things to do and see for a perfect Yachties Day Out in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Las Olas Guest House

Get Away

First Up, book yourself a weekend off the boat after a long season (or just for some fun with your significant other). Check out some Fort Lauderdale Vacation Rentals here.

Next Up – Mani Pedi’s

Next, get your day started off right by treating yourself to a great mani and pedi. If you have lots to fit into your day-off we recommend Harbor Nails on 17th Street. Walk-ins are welcome and they can get you in and out in under an hour. Have a bit more time? Get a Lyft or Uber to Le Chic Beauty Lounge where you can order wines and champagne while reclining in the full body massage chair and enjoy your beauty treatments. Tipsy Salon Bar on Las Olas also offers an array of adult beverages for you to enjoy amidst your spa pampering. It’s a really fun way to start a weekend with the girls. If you prefer a more chilled out vibe, Tiffany’s is right next door.

Hair

Another great pamper if you need your locks refreshed is our girl Yasmine at Luna Studio. Check out her portfolio here and make a booking here!

Mankind for Men – This man-cave complete with Billiards, Craft Beer and Cigars offers all the perks of a Barbershop & Spa geared completely towards males.

Brunch

Fort Lauderdale is famous for it’s long Sunday Funday brunches. There are heaps in the area but one of our all-time favourites is Hardy Park Bistro. Away from the mad crowds of Las Olas, they offer fresh seasonal selections and the bottomless mimosas are just $18. With generous portions Chef Phil (who is an ex-Yachtie himself) really nails the local seasonal menu – every time!

If you feel like venturing a bit further North, Milk Money is worth it. Located on the trendy up and coming 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale, you can enjoy options for both meat eaters and vegans alike.

Brunch Cont’d…

Also, reader Favorite Boatyard is a popular yachtie go-to. This suitably named establishment on the river is admittedly extra, especially with their build your own Bloody Mary bar & Eggs Benedict Bar. Louie Bossi’s on Las Olas is another a popular yachtie brunch spot with an intimate courtyard off the main street. Legendary Old Breakfast House ¨OB House¨ on Himmarshee is just as amazing for local seasonal brunch menus and food cooked from scratch. You can’t make reservations here and your whole party must be present to be seated. However, its worth the wait for such a relaxing Sunday Funday brunch! Alternatively, if you are looking for something more healthful, Green Bar serves up delicious fresh Vegan fare and Kombucha on Tap.

Shopping

No day off would be complete without a bit of shopping. You can find the Apple Store, Victoria’s Secret, H&M, Free People, Michael Kors and Macy’s located within the Galleria Mall on Sunrise Blvd just west of Fort Lauderdale beachfront.
